rotten mango

so today, i picked up this mango in camp, from under the mango tree by the beach. it's nearly mango season now, but there were few mangoes. anyhows, i took the only one i could find that still looked decently edible. this one looked ok, 'cept for a small bruise by the side.

washed the mango like anybody would before i peeled it, then stood on the jetty to eat it with my friends. so we carefully peeled and bit, avoiding the bruised part. just when i was taking the last few bites, this beetle decided to burrow out of the mango, at the bruised part. slightly smaller than the finger nail on your little finger.

well, as you can well tell, i was not too pleased to share the mango with a beetle, and i think the beetle wasn't very pleased either. while it stared at me with its ugly beady eyes, i had a festering evil thought. i dumped the mango, and beetle to the fishes to eat.
