parable of the talents

i've been thinking lately about how God has been really good to me lately, blessing me with all the musical equipment i needed. the boss micro recorder which i got at a 50% discount, an almost mint condition route 66 pedal at $130 off the sticker price, and an fu offering to lend me his bass till he comes back because i've no bass to play and practise with when i start playing bass for worship.

and then just a while ago, i found out i had misplaced the micro recorder! i'm feeling bad about it, not only because it cost quite a hefty sum, but also because i was gonna do so much with it and i had so much material recorded in it, and the song we wrote yesterday was in it too. i wish i hadn't been so careless.

it reminds me that as much as God can give, He can take away too. and it inspired me to read the parable of the talents, where the message to me this time, is that if you do not use what God has given to you and is just complacent about it, He can very well just take it away like that.

i'm sorry Father.

i feel like a child chastised.

edit:
i found out that the recorder was actually just with my brother all along. well, i guess it was a test and lesson learnt. phew.
